This is like the crap I was turned on to about the Band(GD) being puppets for the CIA!

It all is so beyond I can't believe I even brought it up but there is more than one citing of the connection on different websites, in articles and books.

I post a link to one with a Dead connection.
http://deadnews.blogspot.com/2006/04/grateful-dead-conspiracy-theory.html

As far as the Occult BS I can say I made a connection that lead me to explore many religious and spiritual traditions over the last 26 years. As I've mentioned many times here I was hit by a bus and walked away unhurt, a true miracle in my humble opinion. The next year at the Greeks I had a "majikal " experience during the return performance of "Cryptical", thus the BUSCAMEBY handle here. My spiritual exploration took on a much deeper meaning trying to reconcile the two experiences.

I admit that in the first few years, I was exposed to many traditions and had some truly unexplainable "synchronicities". The first Teacher who came to me was a native american master named White Buffalo. I was told later by a highly respected native american scholar that no "Indian" master takes the name White Buffalo because it refers to the coming of the time when the tribes will return to their spiritual home in the Pleiades. Please don't quote me on this, it has been twenty something years and I myself am not a scholar on those traditions. BUT, I do know I performed some majical rituals with this "master" and there was nothing"evil" or satanic about it.

It was not long after that I then had my Greek Experience, where I was taken to an inner sanctuary where I was exposed to even deeper parts of the rabbit hole*S*. From a coincidental sharing of this experience, which was overheard by a professional colleague, I was introduced to the Western Mysteries, where I spent a great deal of the next twenty five years performing what I believed to be "Healing" work for the planet and many individuals. I actually saw some what appeared to be truly miraculous healings. We were taught in "majic" that intention determined if the work was white or dark.

The groups I worked with all traced their linage back to ancient Egypt and the work performed in their temples. This is also the source of the teaching of ancient Israel and the tradition of the Quabalah(many spellings of this name). Many believe the some Hebrews were actually integrated into the Egyptian Teachings and that is the basis for much of their later teachings. Their have been many incarnations of this linage of teachings including the Masonic and Illuminati Conspiracies.

I do not want to disparage the Christian tradition as I believe Jesus the Christ was a perfect living master who lived a life of exemplary experience, that we can all learn much from and should study what were his real intention. I believe is to help lead us to a greater understanding of our true inheritance, KNOWING WE ARE ALL FROM THE SAME SOURCE and therefore truly brothers and sisters who need to help one another, not destroy ourselves by selfish indulgences. In the material I studied, much was reported that Jesus learned his "majic" from the scholars of the Essene tradition in Israel. Which fit very well with the lessons I learned in their material, much of which has been uncovered in recent years by the discovery of ancient text credited to the "Gnostic" teachers after Jesus death in the 1st and 2nd century A.D.

I have studied most exoteric and esoteric traditions over these past 26 years and this has been the source of my knowledge and beliefs. During that time I NEVER had anyone ask me to perform anything that was incompatible with my moral or civic responsibilities! They actually reinforced my desire to eliminate my bad habits and weaknesses and focus on being a living example to my family to make the hard decisions and abandon my selfish behavior. It can be debated by those who know me whether or not I've made progress in that direction-lol.

No, I've never been at any baby eating or burning rituals or even heard of such heresy being executed. Maybe I wasn't the right candidate for inclusion in such disastrous behavior. I sure hope not!

I have always said I believed I had a deeper connection with the music and the group of souls that share a love of the messages and vibration created by the GD and their principals, especially after my journey that day in June 85'.

I still have extraordinary experiences when I attend "Dead" related activities, like this past March with Furthur, here in Colorado.

I am no longer working directly with any of the "groups" I have been exposed to as I feel that there are times when humans will let you down and they have-lol, but I try not to throw the baby out with the bath water. Just because humans are infallible doesn't mean that our aspirations aren't compatible with the "Highest".

I offer this as an example of one who has traveled down what are considered "Occult" paths and not been seduced to perform insidious acts against any man or humanity.

I will advice this never be taken lightly as I do believe that, as the old adage states, that in the wrong hands "power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely". Are there people out there performing "evil" or "satanic" ritual?: ABSOLUTELY! As the Message of Terrapin related to me, "I will not forgive you if you will not take the chance." I took this as a personal challenge to look deep inside my self to find ways to assist mankind and lead us to our next level of understanding; why we are here and how we should treat this precious gift we call life. This is the lessons I've gained from living this path and I will still believe it has been Divinely directed from the "Higher" that can be sourced within each atom of our BEing if we close our eyes and look within. The Big Bang actually fits perfectly into this relationship.

I apologize if this cam across as "preachy", it was my intent to show a different perspective on as subject that creates a lot of negative emotions. I hope those who read it can take something personal for themselves that inspires them to find their truth and live up to as best as possible.

I cherish the space to expound this message and be able to give a little meaning to my "shared experience" of the "majic" of life with the GD.

Considering that one of my favorite members' hobby was the predictable and ritual sacrifice of cats in the most horrrible ways, I must lend some credence to this argument.

I am a Christian and this stuff drives me nuts (pun intended). Sure nothing done in whatever 'ministry' this person is doing. How many suffering people could this person help and actually do something positive in his community? Oh so easy to look @ the speck in your brothers eye instead of the log in your own. Foolish and stupid.

Absolutely no one and nothing positive will ever come of this person.

He's a plane ride from becoming an Islamic jihadist lunatic.

I wonder if this is some sick joke ? While know of the band members strike me as born again types , Phil has often said, "God bless you" at the end of his concerts . I guess that is just to provide cover , while he goes backstage to burn some children ...
Joke or not, the guy is a dickhead , and I suspect Jesus would concur .
To quote another religious tradition , bad karma .

Hey DD--did Phil say that regularly in the latter yrs? [I do NOT want to kick start the "spirituality" debate bout the Boys, but to remind, I was maintaining in the early yrs this was not generally the case].

Pt being, I don't recall it in the 60s and 70s, and wonder if when he went "sober" (assume it was the 80s; his battle with alcohol abuse, new liver, etc., etc.), he used the most widely accepted program, and thus "accepted a higher power", etc., etc.?

No problem with it at all, but wonder if they are "linked"? Might have also been that he was raising a family then, into/thru the 90s/00s, as well...

It was somewhere there in the post bottle period, that it seems his personality, changed ( from what little evidence I know) . Age takes the piss out of some of us( some the opposite !), but he does seemed to "mellowed", at least in his public persona , over the years . Remember the Anthem memo , and listen to his stage comments ( say, up to mid 70's) sometimes you get the feel of a pretty arrogant guy . .Yep, the "higher power" thing , is the common way in AA, So maybe quitting the sauce, add wife & kid , brought him to "God", however Phil means it . He certainly seems like a nice guy these day, anyway .
Screw that loony tune, with his child cooking stories .

Oh yeah, I didn't even look at it...

And couldn't agree more on Phil--great guy.

It's pretty common, in my experience, for folks to be relatively "areligious" in youth (at least during the 60s thru to today), then move into a "what does it all mean?" phase with family/death/etc, and find a new answer for them, in whatever form it takes...

Now that you two have mentioned it, I can recall hearing him say it in the past ten yrs in one context or another.

Not sure if you catch the "history", since it may not have been national at the time: SRayVaug had a great ad in TX in the mid 80s when I was there, and it was "don't mess with Texas" (clean up campaign, etc.); great one...
